About Silver Jewlery
Silver Jewlery (yes, spelled that way) is a guide to buying and caring for silver jewelry.
Who runs it
The site is edited by Greg Parsons, an independent publisher in Ontario, Canada. Greg is not a jeweler or gemologist. He researches each topic from published sources and writes it up in plain language.
How we research
- Facts about metals, marks and care come from sources such as the US Federal Trade Commission's Jewelry Guides, Jewelers of America, the Canadian Conservation Institute, GIA, and dermatology references. Each guide lists its sources at the end.
- Where we could not find a solid source (for example, what the letters FD mean next to a 925 stamp), we say so.
- We do not give medical advice. If jewelry gives you a rash, see a doctor.
How we choose picks
We have not handled or tested the products we link to. We pick listings that state the metal clearly (925 sterling silver for the piece itself), and we repeat only what the shop says about size, length and finish. We do not publish prices because they change, and we do not publish star ratings or reviews.
How the site makes money
Some links are affiliate links. If you buy through one, the shop may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. Details are on the affiliate disclosure page.
